For his major contributions to the field of Egyptology, Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) was chosen by the La Asociación Plataforma Para Fomento de los Oficios Artisticos (APFOA) as the 2010 Personality of the Year. The prize will be presented to the renowned Egyptologist tomorrow in his Zamalek office by a Spanish delegation from the APFOA, led by Francisco Lara, who travelled to Cairo especially to hand Hawass the award.
The APFOA stated that Hawass has brought the wonders of Egypt’s heritage to the world through his amazing discoveries and major restoration projects which he has carried out on several monuments.
