Smuggling ring falls into police net

Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Police have captured an antiquities' theft gang red handed while trying to sell their stolen goods.

Twelve antiquities thieves at the Upper Egyptian city of Meniya while they were engaged in selling 27 stolen artefacts.

The artefacts included metal and black granite ancient Egyptian statues and scarabs, Ahram Online reports.
