The Ostrich was greatly valued in Ancient Egypt for its feathers and eggs. The people of Ancient Egypt traded in ostrich products with Nubia, Ethiopia and Punt. Wall reliefs show conquering pharaohs receiving ostriches and their products from conquered nations.
